When I search with my keyword I was able to see the search results but when I tried to click on the fast keyword settings to configure the key words I got the below error: Trying to access Fast Search site promotion and demotion and Fast Search user context also displayed the same error. Solution When I checked the “FASTSearchAdministrators” local admin group, I was able to see my application pool account configured for my web application. check over here

In the case above I presume that the application pool account running Central Admin and the application causing problems was the same account so it worked by adding the central admin Fast Search ADMIN account configured is added in the Administrators group.
