Try either adding it directly to server.xml or creating a context fragment file with the name of your application's contextPath + ".xml" in the tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost directory.

I checked the logs and got this: INFO: Deploying web application archive /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/ROOT.war Sep 22, 2013 6:31:06 PM org.apache.catalina.startup.ContextConfig init SEVERE: Exception fixing docBase for context [] java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening I run a medium-traffic site and wehave maxActive with an alert whenever active > 10.2. But when I start Tomcat from Eclipse, it is able to start but I'm unable to load the localhost page. check over here It copies thisto .../Catalina/localhost/MyApp.xml.

If you're putting it in META-INF/context.xml, you could be running into another problem. You shouldn't have a MyApp.xml anywhere in your .war file. I created a Maven project in eclipse with the webapp archetype.

We have managed to set up a cluster with replication when the tomcats (7.0.47) were both on the SAME machine as a POC.
