Windows burning also gives an error that it can't write files (Dragging files to Drive letter than burning thru Win XP) I guess I may just be SOL, seems silly that I just successfully burned a disk on the same system which was giving me all the fixation errors (and some other error about not closing DAO session). You have nero, run Nero Info Tool. Sure enough, I would delete something else and the file I was about to burn was suddenly highlighted in Windows Explorer. I have never had any problems with this company.
