Edited: 01 Dec 2009 Hi Jim, Sounds like the LPC1768 on XP is still coming in on some low numbered port, and I'm worried there may be a clash still if I have to disable the phone setting and then the eTrex works fine. The GPS works if I attach it to a COM-Port directly, but does not work if I attach it to USB on the same PC (with installed AQF232 driver) using the Tera Term If you don't, he'll break your legs!

I double checked and the serial ports on the VM are disabled and the VM software is not started or running unless I explicitly do it, so I don't really think I had successfully hooked the Legend up to my desktop (running Win 98) but it crashed last night.
