Let me know if that fixes it. Does that mean i have to start the SCVMM Console as Administrator every time from now on?

I had to run the "VMM 2008 R2 SP1 RC to RTM Upgrade Tool" to fix up the database. Matter of fact I think I've always used the domain admin to install SCVMM and a different account for the service. Then I gave the Self-Service Portal a go (same account) and it popped up a message about the user not being a member of a self-service user profile type: "Unable to Last time i ran it it worked fine.

In other words when the error comes up, is it consistent and continually occuring on repeated attempts? Thanks RagsReplyDeleteAnonymousJanuary 9, 2013 at 3:57 PMThis is actually not a bug. After I have installed VMM and its console I try to connect to the configuration and I get a error that says You cannot access Virtual Machine Managerserver localhost. Maybe the account that works and the account that does not work are not in the same domain.

The SCVMM instance in our dev lab was very slow.

Not only does VMM set the local service to run with this account, it also makes it the database owner. The install succeeded but now I received a really annoying error when attempting to run the administrator console: You cannot access Virtual Machine Manager server . Too bad it comes from mistakes. What it does mention is that the domain account should be made part of the Local Admins group.

Musings of an IT guy First post ofmany to come... My question to those who saw this is - was this intermittent to you? The credentials provided have insufficient privileges on "ServerNAME". (Error ID: 1605) Ensure that your account has access to the Virtual Machine Manager server "ServerNAME", and then try the operation again. Check This Out Hmmkay….

More information for administrator: You cannot contact the Virtual Machine Manager server.

I used a domain account on the SCVMM 2008 R2 because I want to use the new feature that allows ISO sharing...Do we have other ways to narrow this one? Not sure why the same not working when I try to do with the PRO tip implementation. Any ideas on how to solve this? #1 vkoning Total Posts : 3 Scores: 2 Reward points : 0 Joined: 5/31/2007 Status: offline RE: Problem accessing VMM with new installation How come Ferengi starships work?
