Try other media or a different drive. That is the attempt whose running instance of Brasero's PID I invoked ubuntu-bug with, to report this bug. Generally I'd recommend Verbatim CD/DVD only and I've had the most success burning stuff with k3b which you can try from the repositories(but that will install kdelibs and all). Anyway, I tried to burn the .iso in another burner and it worked just fine, so the problem's kinda solved.

This is on a Sony Vaio VGN-NW310F laptop. Does WiFi traffic from one client to another travel via the access point? on Sony DVD.
