It can get stuck over at the station that cleans the wiper. Maybe a touch less sharpness than before, but good enough for government work! Turn off the printer and open the replacement ink compartment- move the inks holder far to the left- use a torch to check where the inks holder home and you'll see Canon Mp530 Check Printer 6a00 by Anonymous on Jul 25, 2009 at 10:33pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have tried everything mentioned here, aside from tearing down my cover...no jam, I cleaned

The service center wants me to drive the thing 85 miles one way for somebody to look at it. Since it's out of warranty, I figure any significant repair would cost more than printer is worth. I even purchased the service manual and started taking the printer apart, but stopped when I had to start taking things off the motherboard. Hope this help by Anonymous on Mar 9, 2007 at 11:32pm Add comment Please sign in to comment This did the trick. Loading... I have tried manually moving the cartridge, as suggested, nothing works to get rid of the error. ME confused!
I came across this one.MP830, the purge unit is a white plastic assembly (on the right side of the printer where the print head homes) that is spring loaded on rides However I eventually moved the cartridge cover to the left and found a little piece of foam like wadding under a loose spring on the right hand side. Obviously have power off and don't turn on till drained and dryed. Thank you so very much!
A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel. Nothing worked until I followed your instructions precisely, just gently touched that white plastic element at far rear right with the tip of a ballpoint, there was a tiny 'click', and After Reading some of the postings on the board I decided to move the printer head with my hand, slowly and tried my best to look into the printer and there So I can't do steps 2 thru 4 above without forcing something.
I can't believe it.. was published in the manual or on their website. I sprayed the underneath jet part of the head (not the contacts) with WD40 (all I had, made the 1st few sheets after a bit greasy but OK now) and gently It is not worth fixing.
It isn't going to hurt anything if it overflows a little.
